About Nia
Nia spent her younger years in a hoarding environment where she was bred repeatedly, never truly knowing comfort or trust. Now, as a senior, she’s getting a taste of what life could have been—quiet laps, soft words, and the respect she always deserved. She’s small and sturdy, happy to curl up beside you or travel quietly at your side, crate trained, and treat motivated. While she’s good with other dogs and cats, and will tolerate respectful children, she sets her boundaries and doesn’t hesitate to speak up if she’s mistreated. Nia’s not here to impress with youth or flashy looks; she just wants to belong somewhere gentle for her final years. Vaccinations are current, she’s spayed, had dental work, and had a mammary tumor removed. Her foster has seen her start to blossom and can help you meet her where she is. Nia deserves to be truly loved and to know people can be kind. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Nia
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Nia is a small Chiweenie/Chihuahua mix, so she fits well in apartments or homes with limited space. She prefers a calm, stable setting, especially after her past experiences.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Chiweenie/Chihuahua mixes like Nia don’t require a large yard; short daily walks and supervised patio time are usually enough. She’s happy inside but still benefits from time outdoors.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Nia can tolerate gentle, respectful children, but isn’t a fan of rough handling. Homes with older kids who understand boundaries would be a better fit.
