About Diesel
Diesel is a big-hearted mastiff mix, just about 2 years old, found as a stray and saved from euthanasia at an animal control facility. He’s recovering from the stress of his time there and needs to put on more weight, currently weighing around 125lbs. Diesel spends most days enjoying a large fenced yard, reluctant to come back inside, and would really thrive on a property with acreage or a farm setup. Diesel gets along well with other medium to large dogs after a careful introduction, but won’t hesitate to act out if a new dog approaches unexpectedly, regardless of the circumstances. With people, he bonds quickly, loves belly rubs, and brings a goofy, gentle energy to those he trusts. He’s done well around older children but could unintentionally knock younger kids over if he gets anxious or excited. A quieter home without much street traffic would help him stay calm—he’ll bark at passersby, cars, or anything interesting out the window, though redirection settles him down. Diesel doesn’t do well in crates and, if left alone with nothing to do, is likely to find something to chew. He’s house trained but needs someone home most of the day or a safe space like a garage where he can’t get himself into too much trouble. This sweet boy is looking for an adopter who understands giant breeds and can offer patience while he settles in and refines his manners. He deserves a home that’s ready for both his quirky spirit and his genuine affection. Start your journey together! Apply now.
