About Hazel
Hazel’s a sweet, scruffy Border Terrier mix with a pretty blond coat and a story with a few escape twists. After her original foster lost track of her, she was on the run for over a year before a rescue volunteer carefully trapped her near a local Walmart. That chip brought her back to safety. Hazel comes in a little shy but warms up fast, especially if there are other dogs to play with or someone to cuddle. She’s house trained, walks confidently on leash, and is up to date on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. She’s playful and gentle, with a loyal side that shines once she trusts you. Hazel gets along well with other dogs but not with cats. She also does best in homes with kids 12 or older, or adults only—she’s a flight risk and known to dash for doors if given the chance, so a secure environment is a must. Her background makes her extra cautious at first, but she’ll be snuggling up in no time. Ready for a forever home in Phoenix, Hazel’s ready to trade her wandering days for stability and love.
