About Smokey
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Smokey is a quiet dog with a gentle, soulful heart. After receiving life-saving care for an injury, he is now fully healed and ready for a loving home. Smokey has a deep loyalty and steadiness, cherishing close bonds with his humans and patiently waiting for a family that appreciates a devoted companion. He has a charming habit of arranging his bedding, is polite about food, and enjoys both sunny naps outdoors and cozy time inside. Smokey is comfortable with older children and lets you know if something is amiss with a friendly bark. For walks and hikes, he prefers a comfortable, secure harness, as his neck area remains a bit sensitive. His adoption fee includes neuter, vaccines, deworming, and a microchip, and he’s believed to be about five years old. Smokey will thrive in a calm home in the Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, White Rock, or Los Alamos area, with someone patient who will let him build trust at his own speed. Once Smokey chooses you as his person or family, you’ll have a steadfast friend for life. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
