About Prince Westmere

Meet Prince Westmere 5.5 years old 102 lbs Neutered Doberman Prince Westmere is a noble, gentle giant with a soft heart and a strong attachment to his people. He's up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and crate trained. At his core, Prince is a classic Velcro Doberman - happiest when he's close to his humans. What makes Prince special: Loves playing fetch and running around foster's property Stays close while you're outside - a true "porch potato" companion Gentle, polite, and respectful in the home Sweet, affectionate, and deeply people-oriented More interested in humans than other dogs Has done well with a small dog in the past Prince enjoys bones, balls, treats, car rides, and spending time outdoors. He prefers a calm, one-on-one connection and would thrive in a home where someone is around often. A secure, fenced yard is strongly recommended. Things Prince is still working on: Some of Prince's challenges are understandable given his past and are likely correctable with patience and consistency. He has leash and collar sensitivity and will avoid the leash when it's time to come inside. He appears fearful of having his neck grabbed likely due to previous rough treatment. That said, when approached calmly and on his terms, he will come, lie down, and allow the leash to be put on. Prince needs work on recall and basic obedience and does best with calm, confident handling. He is strong-willed, and he experiences some separation-related behaviors such as barking when left alone. Best fit: Adult-only, or older children, breed experience Yard with a secure fence Preferably one-on-one companionship Cat-free home Someone willing to build trust at Prince's pace Prince Westmere has tremendous potential. He is loving, loyal, and deeply devoted once he feels safe. With the right environment and understanding adopter, this handsome bean will be an incredibly rewarding companion - ready to give his whole heart to the people who choose him.
