Dogasaurus Duke
AvailableDogasaurus Duke is a young, neutered male Great Dane mix with a short brown coat. He’s about 1 year and 4 months old and currently living in Springfield, MO. Duke isn’t house trained yet, but he’s up to date on his vaccinations. Because he’s heartworm positive, he has some special medical needs that require ongoing attention. His gentle and affectionate nature makes him a memorable companion.
About Dogasaurus Duke
Some say Dogasaurus Duke bears more than a passing resemblance to Marmaduke, and they’re right—he’s a 1-year-old, 78-pound Great Dane mix built for gentle, goofy moments. While Duke arrived at Rescue One in rough shape and still dances with excitement whenever food shows up, he’s healing fast and learning how to trust that meals are now regular. He’s got energy to spare at mealtimes but chills out the rest of the day, preferring structure, calm, and a predictable routine. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-shedding buddy, Duke fits the bill; his short brown coat barely makes a mess, and he’s a champion sleeper who rarely barks, except to say a big hello when new people visit. Duke’s still working on house training and leash walking, so he’ll need a confident adopter willing to put in the time and consistency—someone who won’t be thrown by his size or enthusiasm. He gets along with other dogs and does fine with older kids, and his size doesn’t keep him from thriving in apartments or houses as long as he gets daily exercise and love. He entertains himself and hasn’t damaged a single thing in foster care, preferring to rumble contentedly when he gets pets (his foster swears he “purrs”). Because he’s heartworm positive, ongoing treatment must continue in Springfield, so local adopters are needed for now. If you want a goofy, happy companion who loves sweaters, routines, and humans, Duke is waiting to meet you. Click apply to start the adoption process.
