About Duke Presley
Meet Duke – The Handsome, Sensitive Soul! Duke is a striking boy who’s learning to trust and feel comfortable in new environments. When he first arrived, he was shy and hesitant, but with time and patience, he’s started showing his sweet side—approaching the kennel front and even taking treats from hands! Duke is a Blue Dot Dog, which means he can be walked and interacted with by both staff and volunteers. He loves hind-end scratches (it’s his favorite!) and will happily lean in for attention once he feels safe. Playtime is exciting for Duke—he loves squeaky toys and gets super into the game! He may need guidance to keep play calm, but he’s great at trading toys for treats. When it comes to food, Duke can be a fast eater, so giving him space and maybe using a slow feeder will help him feel relaxed. Duke met another dog during his evaluation and was polite but preferred to keep his distance. He may do best as the only dog or with careful introductions. Because of his sensitivity and occasional nervousness, we recommend a home with no children under 12 and adopters who can give him time, structure, and positive reinforcement. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will blossom with patience and love, Duke is your guy! Come meet him and see the gentle heart behind those soulful eyes.
