About Fiji
Fiji is a Lab and Pit Bull mix with a strong, athletic build and a soft spot for hugs. She gets a bit nervous in her crate around new people, but once she trusts you, she’s all in—ready to wrap her paws around you like a true hugger. Fiji’s had a rough start, arriving at the rescue as a puppy with an embedded collar, but she’s fully healed now, aside from a scar that doesn’t slow her down. She knows basic commands, walks politely on leash, and genuinely wants to make her people happy. Balls are her security blanket—she sleeps with them and gets a kick out of hiding her toys outside, always remembering where she left them. Fiji is good with other dogs but tends to steer clear of cats and feels uncertain around small children due to their unpredictable energy. She’s at her best with active adopters who want a walking or hiking companion, and she’s a pro in the car. Every day she waits for someone who will look past her breed mix and see the beautiful, loyal dog underneath. The rescue allows trials and meet and greets, hoping someone finally gives Fiji the chance she deserves. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
