About Balt
Balt is a young Border Collie and Labrador mix looking for a steady, patient home. He's currently about a year old and on the smaller side of medium, weighing around 39 lbs with maybe a little more growing to do. Balt has a shy streak, so he’ll do best with a confident, social resident dog who can give him that extra boost as he settles in. He really flourishes when he has a buddy to show him the ropes. While Balt hasn’t met cats or children yet, he genuinely gets along with other dogs and takes correction well from his foster sibling. He’s picking up house and crate training fast. Balt adores toys, napping on couches, and just hanging near his people—his foster notes he’s a great work-from-home companion, catching naps beside the computer. On walks, expect some zig-zagging as he sniffs every interesting scent. He does warm up with time; a bit of patience at first turns into kisses and tail wags soon after. Balt is gentle and sweet, ready to show loyal affection to the folks who help him find his confidence. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
