About Hazel
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Hazel is a delightful 5-year-old, 24lb Beagle/Australian Shepherd mix who captures hearts with her sweet, cuddly nature and just the right dash of sass. She is happiest in tranquil neighborhoods or the suburbs, where familiar sights and scents offer her comfort. With a blend of puppy-like curiosity and grown-up calm, Hazel has blossomed into a loving companion now that she’s fully recovered from her initial journey and vet visits. This gentle girl prefers leisurely mornings, a cozy spot on the bed, and breakfast with her favorite people. Her little snores are truly endearing, and her love for food makes training sessions a treat-filled success. Hazel is still perfecting her potty training—accidents do happen, especially in chilly weather, but she’s made great progress with both indoor and outdoor routines. She celebrates every win with happy zoomies! Hazel enjoys playtime alone or with you, often displaying her love for toys in adorable, catlike fashion. She may need time to adjust to busy environments and is easily startled by noise, but she walks well in quiet areas and continues to build confidence with every outing. When meeting new people, Hazel is polite but a bit reserved in crowded spaces, and she interacts gently with children. This girl gets along well with other dogs—especially those her size or smaller—and is likely to be a good fit in homes with cats. Mouthiness is minimal, limited to the occasional chew toy or household item. She can be left alone for stretches of time, settling calmly after a little initial whining, especially when crated. Leash manners and crate training are both strong points, and she greets people with all four paws on the ground unless invited otherwise. If you’re seeking a high-level cuddler who will be your constant, loving companion, Hazel is ready to make every day a cozy adventure. All she needs is your affection and a peaceful space to call home. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
