Zena
AvailableZena lives in New York, NY and is a medium-sized, short-haired female mixed breed dog, with a Beagle and Pug background and some Rottweiler ancestry. She has a pretty blend of white, cream, brown, and chocolate coloring. Zena is an adult, has been spayed, and her vaccinations are up to date. She is house trained and has solid house manners.
About Zena
Zena lost her home when her former family had a baby and felt they could no longer handle dog care. Thankfully, she was surrendered right to rescue in Connecticut, skipping the stress of the shelter system. Now at four years old, Zena is ready for a fresh start. She’s a Beagle/Pug/Rottweiler mix on the medium side—solid at 30 pounds, short coat, white and chocolate coloring. Zena is initially shy and didn’t get much socializing or training in her first home, which left her a bit behind on people skills. She needs a patient, dog-savvy adopter who will take things slow and help her work through some stranger wariness and being sensitive to touch, especially at the vet. Active adults who know rescue dogs and want to invest in ongoing training will be her best fit. Zena responds well to training and already knows her basics. Consistent obedience work will keep her happy and strengthen your bond. She needs a couple brisk leash walks daily for both exercise and to calm her energy. She’s house trained, crate trained, and in great health—spayed, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Be ready to help her decompress and settle in, as the transition could mean a few accidents at first. Zena gets along well with other dogs and brings a mix of sweetness, energy, and Rottie sass. A medium yard or access to daily walks will make Zena happiest. She doesn't need acres to run on, but she enjoys brisk walks and room to explore outside regularly.
