Meet Eve 🤍🐾 Female | Estimated DOB: 12/24/2019 Bullmastiff | ~104 lbs Eve is the kind of dog who doesn’t rush into your life. She settles into it. Quietly. Warmly. Like she’s always belonged there. Found as a stray in Kankakee County in December 2025, Eve was picked up by animal control before finding her way to rescue and into foster care on Christmas Eve. It didn’t take long for everyone to realize she is something special. Eve is a mature, gentle Bullmastiff with an old-soul energy and a heart built for companionship. Eve has exceptional house manners and appears to have lived in a home before. She is fully house trained, crate trained, and can be trusted overnight or for up to eight hours during the day. She politely lets you know when she needs to go outside or when she’s hungry and has zero interest in getting into things that don’t belong to her. Plants, furniture, shoes, all safe. She knows her basic commands including sit, lay down, stay, come, paw, stop, and crate. For an XXL girl, her leash skills are very manageable on a harness. She does enjoy sniffing and saying hello to other dogs, sometimes getting right up in their space in an eager, friendly way, but she has shown no reactivity and truly enjoys canine company. Eve loves snoozing, big stuffed toys, tug of war, crunchy snacks, yard time, and short walks. While she is very mobile, she may have some mild arthritis in her back legs and can be a little stiff after long naps. Because of this, her ideal home would have minimal stairs, a low-stress environment, and possibly a ramp for getting in and out of the car. A fenced yard where she can sniff and lounge or daily walks with someone who enjoys a slower pace would be perfect. Eve would do wonderfully with other friendly dogs and with people who appreciate a calm, affectionate presence by their side. She is a world-class leaner, a quiet companion, and the kind of dog who brings peace into a room just by being there.
