About Teddy
Teddy is a gentle Pekingese who lost his person last summer and has watched his siblings all find homes while he keeps waiting. He has a laid-back personality—happiest when soaking up the sun, lounging on the bed or couch, or simply hanging out with you. Teddy isn’t much for toys, but he’s big on cuddles, hugs, and kisses. Deaf since birth, Teddy may not hear you call, but his devotion is clear the moment he spots you; he’ll trot right over, tail wagging to greet you. He does not enjoy crates and gets anxious in them—though he rides quietly enough in one for trips. He needs a home where love is long-term, free-range couch naps are respected, and no crate time is expected. Teddy does not get along with dogs or cats, so he’ll need to be your only pet. Teddy is currently in Santa Ana, CA and ready for a new chapter. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Teddy, as a Pekingese, does not require a large yard. Short walks and some safe outdoor time are enough—he prefers lying indoors or sunbathing in a small, secure area.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Pekingese can be suitable for homes with older, respectful children, but can be sensitive to rough handling. Teddy may do best in a calmer, adult home given his personality.
