About Fiona
Princess Fiona is a 1.5-year-old Pit Bull Terrier/Miniature Sharpei mix whose spunky personality stands out in every way. She's a tiny, dense 42 lbs with an unforgettable, scrunchy face and a uniquely animated tail that never just wags—she's got 'helicopter mode.' Fiona is high energy and eager to please, thriving with at least two daily walks and playtime. She’s both house trained and crate trained, never has accidents overnight or when left alone (even for a full workday). Tug-of-war is her favorite, but she loves being challenged—her intelligence shows in her ability to master new commands after just one session. She currently knows “sit,” “down,” “touch,” “crate,” “stay,” “off,” “shake,” and “fetch,” all picked up quickly in her foster home. Fiona does best as an only dog but is friendly (if excitable) with cats and tolerant of kids 14 and up. She needs an adopter who's patient, ready for a goofy roommate, and willing to support her as she settles into new routines and environments. She’s improved day by day in her foster care, showing more confidence in the world around her—she’s now a great walking buddy through Chicago’s Humboldt Park. Her playful, quirky ways and attachment to her people make her a special "ride-or-die" companion, and she deserves every treat and adventure that comes her way. Ready to fall in love? How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Fiona will appreciate regular outdoor access, such as a yard or nearby park, but her energy needs are best met through multiple daily walks and play sessions rather than just a big lawn.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Pit Bull Terriers can do well with children, but Fiona's best match is older kids (14+) because she is excitable and sometimes clumsy.
