About Gretchen

Incarceration Date: Jan 8th Expected Release Date: April 2nd, 2026 Please note, dogs in the Freedom Tails program will be in training for up to 12 weeks. During that time, it is the goal for the dog to be able to pass either the AKC K9 Good Citizen test and certification, or the Puppy S.T.A.R. certification. You may schedule a meet/greet with the dog while it is still in the program. However, we request that final adoption not be completed until after they have finished their entire training. For questions, please reach out to us via email at: timbertailsk9@gmail.com ABOUT THIS DOG: If you couldn't tell by her picture, Gretchen is an absolutely stunning young lady! She is the typical german shepherd female. Wants to be the woman in charge, alerts to dangers, has small animal prey drive, and is the biggest lap puppy ever! Get out a ball and Gretchen turns into a playful puppy with her long legs flying about in joy. Gretchen takes time, like most shepherds, to warm up to her person and other dogs. But once she decides you are in her circle, you are HERS! Gretchen was found tied to a pole in Aberdeen on the first freezing night in the harbor this fall, waiting all night and found the next morning with frost on the items left with her. She was left with a tattered old dog bed and a slipper, when animal control came, she refused to leave her "things." When the officer put her things into the patrol rig, Gretchen jumped right in.
