About Bart
Bart started out skittish, abandoned with his sister Lisa and in rough shape, but he's come a long way since then. He’s a smaller Shepherd at about 35 pounds, and these days his coat is healthy, his energy is up, and he’s ready for a new life. Bart’s happiest around other dogs—he’s incredibly gentle, quick to share toys, and respectful of playmates' boundaries. He’ll follow their lead, whether heading out to the yard or sidling up for affection when he sees someone else get pets. This is a dog who needs a steady canine friend to help him keep building confidence. Give him a calm, patient environment and a well-socialized dog to model, and you’ll see him warm up, show affection, and relax. Bart does well in a crate, is improving with housetraining, and sleeps quietly through the night surrounded by his people and dog companions. He’s not quite ready for long walks but gains confidence daily. Bart is neutered, current on vaccines, and started on preventative care. He’s looking for a home that can give him a soft landing and the chance to shine alongside another dog. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
