About Peanut

Peanut is currently being fostered in Georgia but will soon make an appearance at an upcoming adoption event in Ringoes, NJ. Her journey hasn’t been easy: Animal control seized her from a home that had too many dogs, and she narrowly escaped euthanasia along with her puppies. Out of her litter of six, only two pups survived, both adopted, while Peanut herself has managed to land on her paws and settle into foster care. Affectionate and gentle, Peanut gravitates toward people and likes a calm environment. She’s lived with other dogs but would prefer to be the only dog in the home—she does not get along well with other dogs. In contrast, Peanut is fine with cats and showed little interest in them while in her foster setting. She is house trained, spayed, and fully up-to-date on vaccinations and preventative care. Despite arriving heartworm positive, she completed treatment and is now healthy. Peanut would fit best with adopters looking for a sweet, mellow dog who enjoys family company and quiet. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
