Fergus
AvailableFergus is a brown tabby Domestic Short Hair, estimated to be about 7 years and 3 months old, living in Portland, OR. He has a short coat and is neutered, house trained, and up to date on vaccinations. Fergus is a special needs cat with a strong urge to chew and swallow foreign objects, so he requires a very tidy, strictly chew-proofed home. Despite his medical needs, he gets along well with other cats and is known for his affectionate personality.
About Fergus
Meooow! Fergus is a large, outgoing cat with a lot to say and even more need for attention. Always on the lookout for a lap to claim, he’s social and loves being brushed, sometimes drooling with contentment if you really hit the right spot. He’s also full of quirks: blanket caves, sunbeams, and cat grass are a few of his favorite things. Fergus gets along with other cats and is generally a people cat, asking for love and brushing whenever he can, but he can be a bit timid and will hide or act jumpy when startled. Despite his playful side—he’s an aerial ace when it comes to catching wand toys—Fergus comes with big requirements. He suffers from severe compulsive pica and will chew and swallow dangerous objects, including cords, toys, leaves, and even houseplants. Fergus has survived two surgeries already because of this, so he needs a seriously tidy, strictly chew-proofed and plant-free home. He’s been evaluated by specialists and tried on various diets and meds, but nothing curbs his urge to eat things he shouldn’t. If you can maintain a meticulous environment and want a goofy, loving, and very special companion, he’s waiting for a careful adopter or foster who can give him the safe space he absolutely requires. As a fun bonus, Fergus was born under the sign of Aquarius—no surprise he’s such a charming oddball. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
