About Polo

Polo has packed a lot of life into less than a year. With a strong Great Pyrenees lineage mixed with Treeing Walker Coonhound and Pitbull, he’s no ordinary dog. Born in a forest with a large feral pack, Polo had to figure out people from scratch. He came out of it wary—and fair enough—but he warmed up eventually and now approaches with quiet affection once he knows you aren’t a threat. He’s still calm and a bit reserved, more laid back than most young dogs, but there’s a sweetness that comes through if you give him time and space. In foster care, Polo showed reliable house training, good manners in the crate, and does well with other dogs. He’s met a toddler and, though nervous, was never reactive—willing to try, given a slow approach. He’s up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and recently recovered from FHO surgery on his hip, so his mobility should only improve. Currently based in Chesapeake, VA, but adoptable across the US or Canada with transport handled, Polo is the kind of mellow young dog who’ll quietly fill your home with steady companionship. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
