About Pinto
Your new best friend is just one click away. Pinto is a sweet, complex 3-year-old boy hoping for a calm, compassionate home where he can continue healing and build trust. Currently thriving in foster care, he's making steady, meaningful progress every day. This charming little low-rider, with his bowed legs and big personality, brings laughter and loyalty into any space. Pinto is both funny and smart, and once he bonds with his person, he’s devoted, affectionate, and a true cuddler who loves to be close. While he’s learning and can still be anxious or protective, he responds best to gentle, patient guidance. Pinto has medium energy—he enjoys playtime and short walks, with energetic bursts followed by naps. He’s loving, expressive, and deeply eager for connection. He’s incredibly affectionate with his trusted person but is not comfortable with strangers or unfamiliar hands, especially when it comes to nail trims and ear handling. Ideally, he needs a woman adopter or, if there are men in the household, very slow and respectful introductions. Homes with small children are not a fit for Pinto. Pinto has shown gentle curiosity with a cat and can share his life with another dog, provided meals are separate and introductions are handled slowly and thoughtfully. He's currently working on potty training, mastering commands, and overcoming resource guarding with positive reinforcement. Medical issues that caused him pain—and contributed to some unwanted behaviors—are now being actively treated, with encouraging progress. Pinto is looking for a patient, experienced adopter who values routine, emotional connection, and trust-building. If you offer a calm, predictable home and appreciate the journey of earning a dog’s trust, Pinto could blossom into your most loyal companion. Born February 5, this makes Pinto an Aquarius—the sign known for being both quirky and deeply loyal, just like him! Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
