About Natchez
Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Meet Natchez, a cheerful and handsome young pit bull terrier mix affectionately nicknamed “Nachos” by his foster human. Natchez is a playful spirit and, once he gets to know you, a world-class snuggle-bug with absolutely no sense of personal space! He can be a bit shy at first, but once comfortable, he showers his family with affection. Natchez is eager to make four-legged friends—whether they have four legs or three—and loves car rides and social outings where he can meet new people and soak up plenty of pets. His leash manners are still a work in progress, particularly when the occasional squirrel catches his eye, but he is crate trained and house-broken. He admittedly doesn’t love being in his crate, so he might be a bit vocal at first due to some separation anxiety—especially since hounds tend to be expressive. He’s working hard to improve and calms down with time. While usually house-trained, he may have the occasional accident if startled by loud noises. Natchez is learning basic commands like “sit” and “stay,” although his excitement may lead him to think “stay” means “stay right next to you.” Natchez would do best in a home with a secure, physical fence (no electric fencing), and dog-savvy adopters. He’s dog-friendly, gets along with cats under supervision, and is recommended for families with children aged 8 and older. He’s ready to join your family after a home visit and within the adoption area. Fun fact: With a birthday on November 20, Natchez is a Scorpio—a sign known for loyalty and determination. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
