About Sweet Pea Beautiful

Sweet Pea Beautiful came from a rough start after being seized in a neglect situation and arriving at a shelter, where she later gave birth to eight puppies. She has a gentle, sweet temperament and, though she’s on the smaller side for a Great Pyrenees, still needs to gain back about twenty pounds after motherhood. Sweet Pea would benefit most from a quiet home, plenty of patience, and steady encouragement to boost her confidence. She’s not yet house trained and needs basic obedience training to help her settle into family life. Like most Great Pyrenees, she’s independent and won’t always be quick to obey, so she’ll thrive with someone who understands her breed and respects her need for space. Sweet Pea gets along well with other dogs and is good with children, but is not tested with cats. She should be an indoor companion with access to a securely fenced yard—no invisible fencing, since it won’t safely contain her. Her breed has a strong instinct to roam and isn’t suited for off-leash life. Applicants must be over 25, own their home, have all resident pets sterilized and up to date on vaccines, maintain solid vet records, and use year-round heartworm preventative. Resident dogs should ideally be of the opposite sex, and their personality is also considered. Sweet Pea is available as both a foster or adoption candidate with a $350 fee.
