Chewy
AvailableChewy is a small adult male Papillon and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix with long black, brown, and white fur, currently located in Jesup, GA. He is house trained, neutered, and his vaccinations are current. Chewy is known to have special needs and thrives best with proper positive reinforcement. His affectionate and playful personality makes him a loving companion, and he does well with other dogs.
About Chewy
Chewy came into rescue from the Wayne County Pound and was adopted, but returned after he developed a habit of anxious nipping when visitors prepared to leave. Chewy has never nipped his owner and his nips never broke skin, but this behavior needs to be addressed early with solid, positive reinforcement. A fenced yard is non-negotiable for Chewy, and guests should be willing to follow calm departure routines, possibly offering treats to help reinforce the right behavior. At around 16 pounds with long hair in black, brown, and white, Chewy has an irresistibly sweet face and a playful yet snuggly nature. He is described as affectionate with both energy for play and the ability to relax happily as a couch companion. Chewy is neutered, vaccinated, and up to date on heartworm prevention. He gets along well with other dogs, but a home without young children and with someone home most of the day will set him up for success. Chewy's next family must be prepared to work thoughtfully on his anxiety. He’s a good, loving dog in need of consistent guidance and stability—he deserves not to be bounced from home to home over an issue that can be managed. If you have experience or the patience to help a dog through some quirky behaviors, Chewy could fit right in. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
