About Bruno

Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Bruno, a striking 2-year-old Shepherd mix who weighs a healthy 62 pounds! With a history of neglect behind him, Bruno’s transformation under the attentive care of his animal control officer-turned-foster mom is heartwarming. He’s now a joyful, loyal companion who has flourished in a loving home. Bruno is both crate trained and house trained, and he’s impressively quiet in his kennel. Bright and eager, Bruno has already mastered commands like Sit, Stay, and Place, showing the classic Shepherd eagerness to learn. He thrives with an active family familiar with Shepherds, as he bonds closely with his handler and needs someone who can help him feel calm and confident; otherwise, he may show reactivity on walks. In his foster home, Bruno successfully lives with five dogs, a cat, and two sheep. While he can show mild food guarding around other dogs, this is simply managed by feeding him in his crate, and it’s recommended that he continue to be fed separately. If a new home has a cat, the cat should be dog-savvy, since Bruno might be inclined to chase timid cats. Bruno has met older children and does well—he’s best suited to a home with kids 16 or older, as he prefers a thoughtful introduction to new people. Out on walks, he enjoys meeting people and soon seeks out attention with his trademark Shepherd wiggle. With proper guidance, Bruno is a wonderful companion, full of potential, and he enjoys long walks, hikes, and trips to the park with his handler. He is being walked with a prong collar and shows great progress. He is ready for the loving, experienced home he deserves. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
