About Lil Bit
Hi, I'm Lil Bit or "Goose", as my foster parents call me - and I am a gentle soul learning to believe I'm a good boy. I was born at the end of April 2025 and I weigh about 25 pounds, though people say my heart is much bigger than that. I have the most beautiful silvery-gray coat, softly brushed with a bit of white, but I'm still figuring out that I'm as handsome as everyone tells me I am. Truth is, I was surrendered to the shelter from a home where I didn't grow up hearing many kind words. Because of that, the shelter felt like a big, scary place for me. I was shy and timid, and sudden noises or new situations made me freeze up. I was trying so hard to be brave. But now that I am in a foster home, I am already becoming my best self. What I really needed was patience, gentle voices, and someone to show me-day by day-that I'm safe and loved. I also love sharing a home with other dogs and they are teaching me so much that my confidence is building daily. My foster family loves watching my new found happiness. When excited, my zoomies in the yard are a blur and I can run "faster than lightning." Once I trust you, my sweetness shines. I'm incredibly gentle and kind, and I adore humans of all ages. When I am excited or happy, I do full-body wiggles! And although cats make me a little nervous, I would never hurt one. Just introduce me politely and slowly, thank you very much! I'm not bold or flashy-I'm the quiet, sensitive type who will bloom beautifully with confidence-building, routine, and affection. I don't need perfection... just a soft place to land and someone who will remind me every day that I am, in fact, a very good boy. A little praise goes a long way! And did I mention I am fully vaccinated, heartworm negative and already neutered? So if you're looking for a loyal companion who will love you with his whole heart once he feels safe, I think I might be your Lil Bit. PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. *An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application* All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed. ***Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures.
