About Hero
Hero’s story is one of true resilience. Found as a stray in Indiana, Hero came into rescue severely underweight, with his spine and ribs visible, badly infected ears, and evidence of harsh living conditions. He battled a heavy worm load and a painful sore on his nose, most likely from rough time spent behind wire. Heartworm added to his list of challenges, but after five months of treatment, he got the green light for adoption. Now five years old, Hero tips the scale at 83 pounds and has put the hardest days behind him, thanks to the dedication of his foster family. He’s a Great Pyrenees mix who’s learned the comforts of a real home. Housebroken and dog-friendly, Hero enjoys the company of other dogs and settles easily into routines. Because of his past, Hero needs a securely fenced yard—wandering isn’t in his future. His medical needs have been handled, and he’s now neutered and vaccinated. He’s looking for a stable, caring family who can appreciate just how far he’s come and offer him the safe, loving home he deserves. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
