About Hawkeye
Hawkeye is a neutered male Sheltie with striking tricolor markings and a noticeable air of shyness. At about 2.5 years old, he comes from a difficult background, having lost his owner and spent time in less-than-ideal care with a group of other dogs. Hawkeye is crate trained, seems to be housetrained, and is up to date on his vet care. He still needs to finish a heartworm treatment, after which he’ll require eight weeks of crate rest and careful adherence to his exercise restrictions—a commitment his adopter must take seriously. Hawkeye is best suited for a calm, secure home with adults or families with no children under 10, and with owners experienced in helping dogs recover from tough starts in life. He gets along well with other dogs but hasn’t been tested around cats. A securely fenced yard is non-negotiable. If you’re looking for a gentle dog and can provide a patient, structured environment, Hawkeye may be the one. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
