About Atlas
Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you. Meet Atlas! This lovable Labrador Retriever mix was born around July 2022 and is bursting with sweet energy. Atlas is a large, strong boy who means well, but sometimes forgets his own size and strength—he's easy to walk once he's away from the excitement of the shelter environment. Shelter life is tough for him as he can become overstimulated, so a home with older kids (10+) would be a great match, simply because of his strength and exuberance. Atlas dreams of an active home that appreciates his goofy, playful spirit. While initially full of energy, after a good romp or walk he transforms into a snuggly, affectionate companion. He's been around male dogs and shown interest in female dogs at the shelter; a meet-and-greet is recommended with any potential canine siblings. Atlas is house broken, but because he likes to chase cats, birds, or other small animals, a pet-free home—except for compatible dogs—would be ideal. All adopters for Atlas must live within a 4 hour drive of Parkville, Missouri. FOPAS is a dedicated, volunteer-run shelter focused on the perfect match for each animal and adopter.
