About Frankie

Frankie is a lively, athletic guy with a lot of heart. After coming in as a stray and never being claimed, he’s settled into life at the shelter and become a hit with the volunteers. Frankie thrives on activity and loves anything that challenges his mind—think walks, rides in the car, or simply hanging out with people. He bonds best with dogs his own size and isn’t suited for homes with small dogs or any small animals, including cats or poultry, due to his very high prey drive. Slow introductions and supervision with canine companions make for smoother relationships. Frankie’s activity level is on the higher side. He needs ways to stay engaged; daily walks and some fetch time go a long way. He’s smart and responsive, listens well, and keeps his kennel clean. Thanks to his blue eyes, he got named after Frank Sinatra. Do keep in mind: Frankie has been known to climb a 4-foot fence, so napping in a backyard alone won’t cut it. If you’re in Iowa, over 21, planning to make him part of your home, and looking for an athletic companion, Frankie may be your match. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
