Looking for some love? Lovecraft is a spirited goofball who will keep a smile on your face! He is currently living in an APA foster home and is learning the skills he will need in his new home! Lovecraft is affectionate with everyone he meets. He'll want to put his head in your lap for some scratches, and he will happily curl up on the couch with anyone who is sitting down. He really loves people and always wants to be around others, ideally having everyone in the room equally close to him. We've found that Lovecraft has bursts of energy followed by long periods of relaxing. He enjoys his walks and runs, and at home, he will occasionally roll on the ground, swings his toys from his mouth, and bound from room to room, etc. But once he's had some exercise, he will curl up on the couch with his Kong or a rawhide roll and chew on it contentedly for hours. Lovecraft is crate trained and can spend time lounging in his crate when he's alone in the house. But he would prefer to spend plenty of time with his favorite humans! Because he is such a people lover he tends to be jumpy, and his new family will want to work on helping him control his excitement! Lovecraft would also be great as your new walking partner. He also knows his basic commands. He is starting to show interest in playing tug, though he's not yet gotten the hang of fetch! He's a smart dog who enjoys using puzzle toys for feeding to give him some mental stimulation. We think Lovecraft's ideal home would be an active household with experienced dog owners who can provide Lovecraft with exercise and consistency. A big backyard would serve him well, and he could go home with a well-matched doggie sibling. Given his size and enthusiastic nature, he might not be a great fit for a family with young kids, though he'd probably love to be around older children. Just take him for one walk and you'll see how much Lovecraft loves life and is curious about the world. He has a sweet, good-natured disposition and will entertain you with his silly expressions and antics. And you'll see his cuddly side when he is mellow and wants to rest his head in your lap and gaze up at you. Lovecraft is a lovable goofball who will bond with his adopter immediately.
