About Mick

Click apply to start the adoption process. Meet Mick, a charming Shar Pei mix who is about 9 months old and thriving after overcoming a tough start. Originally arriving with a broken hip, he has fully recovered thanks to a successful surgery. He’s also been neutered and microchipped for his new journey ahead. Mick lives happily in foster care alongside both a lively foster brother—his favorite playmate—and an older foster sister, though he knows to give her space. He appreciates slow introductions with new dogs and people, and his gentle, patient foster family has helped him blossom. Bedtime is a breeze; he doesn’t sleep in a crate but prefers his own cozy space, where he settles quietly at night. Affectionate and endearing, Mick’s wiggly dance when greeting loved ones is hard to resist. He’s doing very well with his housetraining and strikes a lovely balance between puppy energy and the ability to just chill. Mick would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion, but he could also be an only dog. He’s best suited to families with patient adults or teens, as he can be nervous and needs slow introductions to new people. Mick is a star on the leash, loves his walks, and would enjoy a secure yard, though it isn’t required. Give this sweet, resilient boy a chance, and he’ll bring joy and excitement into your life. Fun fact: with a birthday on February 24, Mick is a Pisces, known for their gentle and loving hearts! Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Mick

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Shar Pei mixes generally thrive in homes where they can be close to their family, benefiting from calm and patient environments. They do well in homes with secure yards but can adapt to apartment living if given daily exercise.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

While a secure yard is a plus for Shar Pei mixes to burn off energy, regular walks and playtime can be enough to meet their exercise needs. They do not require a large property but do appreciate room to explore and play.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Shar Pei mixes are often good with older children, especially when introduced properly and socialized early. Due to their reserved nature, supervision and respectful boundaries are important with younger kids.
