About Raine Jane

Meet Me - Raine Jane! From Storm Survivor to Your Future Sunshine** Hi there! My name is Raine Jane, and even though my story started on a stormy New Orleans street, I'm ready for my happily-ever-after. I was born around March 2025, and I'm a petite 32-lb shepherd mix with a dash of mystery breed-just enough to make me uniquely adorable. I may have had a rough beginning, but I've grown into a loyal, goofy, loving little companion who just wants to be someone's best friend. My Rescue Story One rainy day, I found myself cold, soaked, and completely alone in the Lower 9th Ward. No collar... no microchip... no humans searching for me. But then two angels showed up. They picked me up, dried me off, fed me, and promised me I'd never face a storm alone again. I learned so fast in their care! I discovered that pottying outside is the way to go, that sitting earns treats (yum!), and that humans give the BEST cuddles. They wanted to keep me forever-but their landlord said no. Still, the universe wasn't done taking care of me. A couple of wonderful fosters heard my story and made room for me in their home. Now I'm safe, loved, and completely ready for my forever family. My Personality & Skills Fully vaccinated, spayed, and house-broken Great with dogs, kids and working on understanding cats! Super food-motivated and eager to learn Learning not to pull on leash (I'm trying, promise!) Friendly, affectionate, loyal, and a little bit silly The perfect size for adventures or couch snuggles What I'm Looking For I dream of a home where I'm cherished and trained with kindness-where walks are fun, treats are plentiful, and snuggle time is non-negotiable. In return, I'll be your biggest fan, your daily dose of joy, and your loyal companion through sunshine and storms. If you're searching for a smart, loving, resilient girl with a heart full of gratitude... I'm right here. Come meet Raine Jane and be the hero in the next chapter of my story. PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. *An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application* All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed. ***Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
