Marnie's tale begins in a place she never should have been: tied to a dumpster behind a cafe, waiting for a kindness that-at first-did not come. Her microchip traced a winding thread all the way to New York, but the person it pointed to had vanished from her life without a shadow or a farewell. Some hearts would harden there, in that narrow space between rejection and rescue. But not Marnie's. At 4-5 years old and 45 pounds, she carries herself with a quiet resilience that feels almost ancient. A Mountain Cur/Terrier mix, she is equal parts strength and softness-an old soul in a young body. She meets people with an openness that should not be possible for a dog who has known abandonment. When she leans into you, it is not desperation. It is trust, freely given, as though she has decided that hope is still worth the risk. But every heroine has her boundaries. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
