About Beauredog

Some dogs arrive with noise and flash. Beauredog - Beau - arrives with heart. At around 50 lbs, Beau is a tri-color American Bully mix with a calm presence and a soulful gaze that tells you he's been paying attention. He was found abandoned on the side of the road with nothing but a clothes hamper beside him - no home, no answers, just waiting. One kind human stopped, and Beau's story finally changed. Now safe in rescue, Beau is discovering the good stuff: warm beds, full bowls, and people who stay. He's a gentle, steady companion who finds his happiness simply being near you - stretched out on the floor, quietly keeping you company like a peaceful New Orleans evening settling in. Beau is crate trained, understands "kennel up," and is nearly house trained. He's very food motivated and enjoys learning, which makes training a positive and encouraging experience. Like many young dogs, he still has a bit of puppy energy and does best with patient redirection, consistency, and a predictable routine. He enjoys tennis balls, chew bones, and is gaining confidence on leash. Beau is dog friendly and has done well with older, respectful children. He hasn't been around younger kids yet and will need a home without cats. Beau is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, and will be neutered soon. Beau isn't asking for perfection - just a safe place and someone willing to move at his pace. In return, he offers quiet loyalty, deep sweetness, and the kind of love that feels like home once you let it in. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed. ***Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
