About Melody
Click apply to start the adoption process. Located at the sanctuary in Willits, CA, Melody is an amazing, smart, and affectionate dog bursting with energy and personality! She thrives with teenagers ages 16 and up and is a people-oriented, playful companion who loves to spend her days running in a yard or exploring trails. Melody would benefit from a committed guardian who can continue her training and provide consistent correction for her exuberant jumping and little nipping habits—she is truly an enthusiastic bundle of energy! Her play style is very physical, and she prefers to be the only dog in the home with no cats or young children. Perfect for stay-at-home individuals or those with a large yard who want an energetic companion, Melody is described as a go-getter who brings the big, active energy of a larger lab in a compact package. She is clever and a bit of an escape artist—adept at climbing fences and opening doors—not to run away, but simply eager to be with you. Because of her intelligence, she learns quickly, responds well to hand signals and voice commands, and aims to please when given correction. With a tall, secure fence and an active lifestyle, Melody will flourish, especially with someone able to provide the structure and exercise she craves. Melody's adoption fee is one half off at $200, and she comes with a 20-day get acquainted period to help her adjust to her new surroundings. Please be patient and understanding as she transitions, particularly if she is coming from the sanctuary environment. If you’re ready to provide a loving, secure home to an energetic and quirky girl, Melody is waiting to meet you at Milo! Make their next chapter their best one yet.
