About Cooper

Cooper is a playful and goofy 2-year-old Lab/Pointer mix, weighing 57 pounds. He arrived at our rescue after being found as a stray in Monterey County. His calming presence shines as he embraces life in a stable environment. Though his playful nature means he loves chasing small animals or critters, cats aren’t safe around him due to his chasing instincts. He integrates well with other dogs, enjoys group outings, and is good around children, though he tends to remain aloof around them. Cooper thrives with a couple of walks daily and enjoys the freedom of a dog door leading to a backyard where he sometimes spots squirrels. While he's not destructive when left alone for up to four hours, he does experience some anxiety, which is gradually improving. He needs an active family that understands his Pointer instincts and is patient enough to help him refine his leash skills. At the end of a day filled with adventure, Cooper just wants a place to cuddle. If you are looking for a loyal companion to include in all aspects of family life, Cooper might be your perfect match!
