About Kirby

Kirby has spent more than enough time waiting—he’s been in rescue twice, first joining Three Paws Rescue back in December 2023, and now he faces his senior years without a home of his own. He’s an 8-year-old neutered Pit Bull/Retriever mix, but he’s got plenty of energy left in the tank. Kirby loves hikes, splashing in streams, and pretty much any kind of adventure, while also being more than happy to settle in for quiet time with his people. This dog is as routine-driven and gentle as they come. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and does great home alone. Kirby has a soft spot for kids and adults alike and has lived with cats before. Guests coming over? No problem—Kirby welcomes them. Road trip? He’ll ride shotgun and keep you company the whole way. A note for multi-dog homes: Kirby may need careful supervision with toys, especially tennis balls, when other dogs are present. He had a past scuffle over toys, so managing those high-value treasures is wise. Otherwise, he’s easygoing and smart—he knows his routine and waits patiently for food and treats. All Kirby needs now is a place to finally call home: someone who will appreciate his blend of mellow companion and eager adventurer, and who’ll set him up for success. He may be a little older, but he’s far from done. Let’s get Kirby into the soft bed and loving life he’s been patiently waiting for. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
