About Chip

Click apply to start the adoption process. Chip is a handsome and chatty German Shepherd mix, about 6.5 years old. Originally rescued as a puppy in 2019, Chip was adopted by a young couple but has now come back into rescue due to their life changes, in search of a loving forever home. Chip is known for his vocal personality—he loves to talk and often serenades you with his unique hound-like song, certain that you’re just not speaking his language. Although not heavily socialized outside his previous home, Chip does well with children and tends to bond with them faster, having grown up alongside kids. He currently shares a special friendship with a teenager, happily following them throughout the day, creating a charming partnership. When it comes to canine companions, Chip has experience living with other dogs. However, he can be a bit mischievous during group play, acting as the perpetual little brother who enjoys teasing and playfully chewing on other dogs’ legs, collars, and ears. He sometimes struggles to read social cues from other dogs, so he would do best with patient canine siblings or a family willing to provide gentle reminders about playtime boundaries. Chip does not have experience living with cats and has not been tested with them. Chip remains a puppy at heart, eager for new adventures, spirited walks in the woods, and plenty of affectionate butt scratches. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
