About Dre
Dre is a velvety senior—often called a “house hippo”—who wears his age well. Now about 12, he was originally found as a stray when he was three and quickly won everyone’s hearts at the shelter. Since then, he’s been adopted and returned (through no fault of his own), but the staff recognized the gentle soul immediately, just a bit grayer and more puzzled this time around. Thankfully, Dre’s now in a foster home and has settled into domestic life like the pro he always was. What sets Dre apart is his steady, easygoing temperament. He gets along with other dogs, is great with kids, and is both house and crate trained. He moves through life at a slower pace and is content lounging with his people. At 70 pounds, he still thinks he’s fit to be the little spoon, and his ideal day probably involves a snuggle session. Dre is looking for a soft landing for his golden years and would love to mesh into your family with minimal fuss. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
