Buddy had a tough break at the start of summer when he tangled with a porcupine and lost, ending up at a pet emergency clinic with a face and chest full of quills. The clinic staff, taken by his gentle manner, called in rescue rather than letting his story end there. Over the next few months, Buddy endured several procedures to remove stubborn quills but kept a happy, sweet disposition through it all. At the rescue, Buddy has been nothing but agreeable—friendly to everyone he meets and easygoing during his visits and treatments. In his foster home, he fit in effortlessly with a mix of large and small dogs. While he does have a tendency to chase cats, he listens well to a recall. Buddy isn’t one for high expectations; he wants a calm home with a soft bed, some time to poke around the yard, and maybe relax with another mellow dog or play gentle games with kids. Mostly, he wants a place to be the family dog: loved, cuddled, and included. Buddy is a neutered male with a 'Heinz 57' mix of Great Dane and Terrier, vaccinated and treated for parasites.
