About Reeses
Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Reeses, just like the candy—sweet with a tough shell. When she first arrived, she was terrified and defensive, but with the right amount of patience, you'll quickly see her transform and love you to pieces instead. It is incredibly rewarding to watch a fearful pup discover trust and blossom into her true self, especially one who has every reason to be wary. Reeses is a scruffy, under-2-year-old Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix whose previous owner left her isolated and alone. Found after being abandoned, she is now healthy, though her trust must be earned with gentle care and patience due to her rough start in life. Once Reeses knows she's safe, her affection is unmatched—she will try everything to be by your side, seemingly becoming your little shadow. No gate can contain her curiosity; she shows off her agility by finding her way into unexpected places. Playful and full of energy, she can entertain herself for hours, tossing toys or racing around with pure joy. Her quirks and extraordinary escapes just add to her charm. Reeses needs a patient adult-only home, where her humor and high-spirited personality are embraced. She's looking for someone who understands her past and can appreciate her blend of dog, cat, monkey, and flying squirrel antics. If you're ready for a loyal, entertaining, and incredibly loving companion, Reeses is waiting to meet you in Northern NJ. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?

Questions about Reeses
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Yorkshire Terrier/Brussels Griffon mixes tend to do well in smaller living spaces such as apartments or houses with secure yards. They thrive best in homes that can provide them with both companionship and a safe space to play.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
While these small breeds don't require large yards, they do enjoy daily walks and play sessions. A secure, safely enclosed space for short bursts of energy can be beneficial, but plenty of indoor stimulation can also keep them happy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Yorkshire Terrier and Brussels Griffon mixes can be sensitive and may not always be the best match for households with young children, especially if they're shy or easily startled. Gentle, respectful older children may be a better fit.
