About Maverick
Maverick is a two-year-old, gray and white bundle of personality who's come a long way from his days on the street. After recovering from medical troubles and some intensive dental work, he's now a healthy, energetic cat, eager to meet his forever family in Warwick, RI. Maverick adores attention—he's the kind who will dash out of his cage to greet you, throw his body against yours, and delight in head and chin scratches. He is extremely affectionate, not afraid to vocalize when he wants love, and he gives legendary shoulder-to-shoulder hugs. Because of his playful, sometimes rough-and-tumble style, Maverick will do best in a home with older children who respect his energy and enthusiasm. This cat is a serious lover of all things edible, so he needs meals controlled and should not be free-fed, particularly since he's managing Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) on a hypoallergenic prescription diet. The rescue will provide his food for six months to help ease the transition. Maverick gets along with confident, friendly cats but should eat separately to avoid disagreements over food. He plays hard and can overwhelm more timid furry friends. His compatibility with dogs and other animals hasn't been tested. Maverick's journey has built his resiliency, and he has buckets of affection to share in return. Give this quirky, lovable survivor the home he deserves. Ready to fall in love?
