Josie embodies the typical heeler traits; she’s always bustling about, eager to work and herd both people and other dogs. It's her nature to nip at heels during play, so a keen eye is essential. This busy girl loves to jog alongside a bicycle in suitable weather and enjoys games of catch with her soft Frisbee, even if she hasn’t quite mastered the return yet. Josie respects commands and maintains boundaries, making her a quick learner. She sleeps and eats well in her crate and is ready to engage in activities throughout the day. Active individuals or families who can keep up with Josie’s exuberance will find her a fantastic companion. Couch potatoes need not apply, as she requires an engaged dog parent to provide guidance. Given her nipping tendencies and some food guarding behaviors, a home without small children is ideal. Josie has experienced car sickness, which will require some desensitization if she’s going to accompany you on road trips. At just 11 months old and weighing around 30 pounds, Josie has a long, natural tail and is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She has tested negative for heartworms and is currently on prevention.
