About Muffin
Muffin is a tan tabby with short, soft fur who was rescued in West Torrance in July 2022. She was born in May 2022, making her a Taurus—loyal, gentle, and sometimes, a little stubborn. Spayed and vaccinated, Muffin is ready to settle into a forever home. While she has lived with other cats and young children, she’ll likely relax more quickly in a quieter setting where she can claim all the affection from her favorite person. Her past foster home included adults, kids, and cats, so she’s used to a variety of company, but she shines brightest without too much chaos. At first, Muffin will be shy and cautious—she tends to dart from reaching hands. With patience, she transforms into a purr machine, seeking attention and the chance to knead her paws in your lap. She’s especially affectionate once she feels safe, coming over for pets and eagerly nudging your hand for more, especially if you scratch just above her tail. Toys are a big draw—she crouches, wiggles, and pounces with an energy that belies her calm nature elsewhere. She gets along with other cats and children, though she’s happiest if things stay mellow. Muffin is food motivated and never misses mealtime, often announcing her hunger with a bold meow. Wet food is her staple—she’s been on a 100% wet diet for her health. Treats, especially the sound of a treat jar, can draw her out of hiding when visitors arrive. With strangers, she usually hides under the bed at first but adjusts when given space and time. For initial adoption, it’s best to start her in a small, safe room with no hiding spots. This girl tested positive for FIV in February 2023, but lives well alongside other cats and handles daily life just fine. Normal household contact isn’t a concern for transmission, so she fits in without issue. Muffin is available for foster-to-adopt and has been waiting longest in the rescue’s care. Her cautious sweetness and food-obsessed antics are just waiting for the right home. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
