About Gazan
Gazan is a large adult Rottweiler who needs time and patience before he’ll trust you. He doesn’t warm up quickly, but once he does, his loyalty is unwavering. It took about two to three weeks for his current fosters to build that bond, and those willing to move at his pace will be rewarded with a strong companion. Gazan does have a bite in his history—he bit a previous owner who reached through a fence while Gazan was eating, but in his current setting, he’s shown relaxed eating behavior, never guarding his food or showing aggression at mealtime. He previously lived with teens and did well, and he absolutely loves chasing a ball. You’ll need to put in a lot of daily playtime for him to be happy. Give Gazan space at first; he prefers to approach people on his terms. He’s fine with people he knows but does not like strangers in his space, and he’ll clearly communicate when he needs space. He recently met a family, handled their playtime well, and gave a bark and a lunge (without contact) only when someone got too close while he was resting. In group training classes surrounded by other dogs, he behaved perfectly. He walks beautifully on leash and follows commands in both English and Armenian. Gazan gets along with friendly dogs and matches the attitude of playmates; he’s best matched with another large, gentle dog rather than a small one. He’s very protective of his people and thrives with someone confident who wants both a companion and a guard dog. He’s smart, food and toy motivated, and his full potential will shine with someone who has time and patience. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
