Phoebe is a beautiful dog, inside and out! She is three and half years old and weighs about 52 pounds. She is an active dog and loves to go running with her foster mom. Phoebe is suited to apartment/condo life. She is potty trained, crate trained, and dog friendly! Unfortunately, Phoebe experienced physical abuse at a young age, which means she may thrive best in a home without men due to her past trauma. While she has been worked with male employees at the Refuge, it will take considerable time and patience for her to fully trust a man in her household. Phoebe also has a keen sense of "stranger danger," so she will need ample time with her family to learn that she can trust them. Providing her with decompression time is essential! Phoebe is an extraordinary dog, but she's not necessarily an "easy" one. She requires an experienced dog owner who is willing to invest time and patience in her journey. It's important to have someone who won't give up if things don't go perfectly at first. Could you be that special person for her? Phoebe has been with us since 2022, nearly her entire life.
