In early April 2024, two dogs were found tied to a playground in Dunwoody, GA, wearing harnesses and acting sweet as can be to every person who approached. After hours of waiting for help, a kind woman—already an experienced foster—stepped in to give them safety and comfort as a “friendly finder,” keeping them out of the overfilled shelter system. Unfortunately, no one came forward for Bubba and his brother Simba during their hold period. While their origin story is sad, these boys quickly captured hearts wherever they went. Atlanta Lab Rescue even posted them to help, but Rescue Me Ga Inc officially took them in, and the brothers are now thriving together in a loving foster home. When attempts were made to separate them, it was clear they’re deeply bonded—never straying far from one another for long. Bubba and Simba are estimated to be 7–8 years old yellow Lab mixes. Both are fully vetted, housebroken, crate trained, and know some basic commands. They love spending time outside together and are always eager for a game of fetch, car rides, and quality time. While they adore toys, kids, walks, and other dogs, it’s clear what they want most is the permanent warmth of a home where they’ll never be let down again. Their foster family stepped up for them in an emergency, but a new foster or—better yet—a forever home is needed soon! As a fun fact, with a mid-December birthday, Bubba is a Sagittarius—meaning he’s likely to be adventurous, loving, and eager for new experiences shared with his best friend.
