Meet Mort, a spirited one-and-a-half-year-old blind dog on the lookout for his forever home. Mort may not have eyes, but that hasn't stopped him from living life to the fullest. This energetic young fellow has been returned to the rescue on multiple occasions, but it’s important to clarify: Mort’s returns were due to circumstances beyond his control, not because he is unadoptable. He has a vibrant personality that demands understanding and patience. When outdoors, Mort's enthusiasm is undeniable. He loves to run and play, often with other dogs. However, his play style is exuberant and sometimes overwhelming. For Mort, a perfect canine companion would be tolerant and able to handle his spirited antics without telling him to slow down. His lack of vision means he may not realize he’s playing a bit too rough or jumping up on people while having fun. He simply wants to engage, not cause harm. Inside the house, Mort is surprisingly calm. After his zoomies, he enjoys lounging, chewing on bones, and getting squeakers out of stuffed animals.
