Meet Duke! This sweet-natured Black and Tan Coonhound was picked up as a stray and now needs a committed, loving home. He is a bit reserved at first, but patience pays off; once he trusts you, his affectionate side shines through. Duke loves to spend time outdoors and would do especially well in a home with a fenced yard, giving him plenty of safe space to nap in the sun and explore. He's housebroken and crate trained, which makes him an easy fit for most families. Duke is friendly with other dogs, and his laid-back nature makes him a great canine companion. He is currently being treated for heartworm and has early cataracts, but neither challenge dims his spirit or enjoyment of life. He simply wants a place to call home and a person to share it with.
