About Merlot
Your new best friend is just one click away. Meet Merlot! Merlot is a small, black Miniature Poodle with a playful and funny personality, who has been learning important life skills during his time in foster care. He adores playtime with other dogs, although his energetic play style is best matched with a tolerant canine companion. Merlot has made great strides with training—he crates well, knows 'sit,' walks on leash, and has improved with being groomed, particularly with patient and gentle sessions. For grooming, a knowledgeable professional or a home groomer who can work with him slowly over time is ideal. Please note, Merlot’s perfect home must have a securely fenced yard (no apartments allowed, some condos with private yards may be considered), and a sturdy, non-wire crate is required for his safety. At this time, only homes in Western Washington or Northern Oregon (at caseworker discretion) will be considered, and meet-and-greets take place in Poulsbo, WA. Merlot is a happy, joyful companion ready to bring excitement to your family. If his birthday is February 8, that makes him an Aquarius—dogs born under this sign are said to be especially friendly and curious, just like Merlot! Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
